GENTILI
The company was founded in 1979 in Caprino Veronese between Lake Garda and Monte Baldo. Carlo Gentili has been supported since 2010 by his sons Enrico and Elisa, who have been cultivating vines of native varieties for between 20 and 60 years, trying to reduce harmful practices in order to aim for a system rich in biodiversity and respect for the soil and the plant is. Piwi vines are also planted and the aging takes place in small and medium-sized wood and terracotta barrels.
BIGAGNOLI
The project was born in 2012 thanks to his father Raffaello's 5 hectares of vineyards, on which Bigagnoli begins to work. We are on the morainic hills of Lake Garda, in Calmasino di Bardolino. As a garage owner, Bigagnoli relies on Renato Corradini's cellar to process the grapes he owns. Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta have been cultivated on hilly moraine terrain since 2013. Organic certified since 2019.
VINICIO BRONZO E FIGLI
The company was founded at the end of the 18th century on the hills of Caprino Veronese in the locality of Gaon. Wine was produced and traded from the very beginning, until the arrival of Vinicio, who since 1978, together with his son Davide, has been cultivating the 16 hectares of vineyards at 500 meters above sea level according to the principles of integrated phytosanitary management and environmental sustainability. The temperate climate of Lake Garda and the strategic position on the slopes of Monte Baldo favor the healthy growth of vines such as the autochthonous Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara and also indigenous ones such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon.
ZAMICHELE
The Zamichele farm is located in the heart of the gentle morainic hills of Lake Garda between Peschiera, Sirmione and Pozzolengo. The family has been active in agriculture for more than a hundred years, respecting the surrounding land, fauna and flora. The mild climate and the absence of herbicides or chemicals favor the development of a rich biodiversity with the greening of the rows. Love for the territory and environmental sustainability have also led to the decision to use a photovoltaic system to generate electricity.
The absence of herbicides and desiccants can be seen with the naked eye: the grass between the rows grows lush and native birds nest there: reed warbler, tit, finch, robin and many other species.
EGGER RAMER
The company was founded in Bolzano in 1880 and from the very beginning has set itself the goal of treating local vines in a modern way. As early as the 1970s, his father Toni firmly believed in the potential of Lagrein, which is now the most widely cultivated and valued grape variety in the company. In addition to those mentioned, Vernatsch, Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio, Moscato Giallo, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Müller Thurgau are also grown.
MEGGIOLARO
Cristiana Meggiolaro's company is located on the Gambellara hills, 300 meters above sea level, on soils of volcanic origin rich in lava and tuff.
Cristiana manages the company together with Riccardo; both come from a different professional experience than that of the winemaker. Yet their wines are full of life and character. In 2007 some old vineyards recovered under Monte Calvarina at the foot of the Lessini Mountains, planted with Garganega and Durella, the area's native grapes. The altitude changes in relation to the three different small plots and varies between 450 and 120 meters above sea level. No chemical adjuvants are used either in the vineyard or in the cellar, a character consistent with the couple's production philosophy, which consists of maximum respect for the vine and its seasonal evolution.
PORTINARI
The company was founded in the 1980s from Umberto's desire to take care of the family's vineyards in Brognolino, in the Soave lands. The first of the two plots, covering a total of 4 hectares, is located at 150 m above sea level on soils of volcanic origin, the second on clayey alluvium downstream in Fittà and Alpone respectively.
The children Maria and Silvio follow their father in all cellar and commercial operations.
DAVID STERZA
The Sterza David company was born in 1998 in Fumane, in the classic Valpolicella, without prejudice to the long tradition of winemaking for family use. The planted area is four hectares. Paolo Mascanzoni, David's cousin and still an employee and partner of the company, strongly urged David to decide to convert his raw material directly instead of selling it to other wineries. David enthusiastically welcomed this proposal and the Sterza David Farm was born, establishing itself as a production philosophy, exalting its inimitable territoriality.
LA GIARETTA
The company has its origins in Valgatara, Marano, in the heart of classic Valpolicella.
Its story begins with Bruno Vaona in the 1950s; The passion and tradition are carried on to this day by Francesco and Francesca, big fans of motorbikes and wine.
LA MARANGONA
The company cultivates 34 hectares between Peschiera, Pozzolengo and Sirmione and has been working organically since 2015. The 17th century farmhouse rises in an area where the microclimate of the lake and the area rich in clay and white limestone meet to produce great wines quality. The "Marangona" is the bell that used to ring the dawn and dusk in the courtyard, the beginning and end of field work. A lot has changed since then, but the love for the vine and the scanning of a time involved in the result obtained has remained.
VIGNE DI SAN LORENZO
We are in Campiume, at the foot of the Apennines, on the border with Florence, near Brisighella. Filippo Manetti has been organizing eleven hectares of land since 1998, only part of which are vineyards. The grapes grown are mainly red: Sangiovese, Malbo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon; Albana and Trebbiano source with white grapes. When working in the vineyard or in the cellar, Manetti follows the dictates of "doing nothing" and using as little technology as possible. The concept of terroir is reinforced, that is how a particular vine expresses its characteristics at that precise point with its unique combinations of soil, altitude, latitude and exposure.
TERRE DI GNIREGA
The company has been active in organic farming since the mid-70s, with pioneering approaches, absolutely among the first realities in Valpolicella, classic and advanced. Receives the first certification in 1989 on the approximately 7 hectares owned by more than four generations, from great-grandfather Cristoforo through Sante to Luigi (Gigi) and his children
Of these, 5 are grown with vines, namely Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Croatina, Cabernet, Garganega. The plots are oriented to the south, south-east; The soil consists of clay mixed with limestone and abundant skeleton.
Luigi runs the company according to the instructions of his father and grandfather, now with his children Francesco and Lucia. All vinifications are carried out starting from the same grapes' lees. No filtrations or clarifications are carried out and no chemical elements whatsoever are used, except sulfur dioxide in microdoses in the bottle.
